ARCADIS' 5th Annual European Round Table for HSE and Real Estate Executives

ARCADIS is pleased to inform you that its 5th Annual European Roundtable for HSE and Real Estate Executives will be held this coming June 7 and 8, 2012 in Amsterdam.

As with past Roundtables, the Event will be interactive and designed to inform and inspire HSE and Real Estate Executives. By facilitating a networking environment for peer-to-peer interaction, participants will be able to discuss current trends and developments in the HSE and Real Estate profession.

The Roundtable will be centered on four main themes: the latest developments and challenges associated with sustainability management; maintaining compliance during divestitures, mergers, and acquisitions; continued and rapid development in China; and sustainable real estate development in complex/urban areas.  Final themes and discussion topics may be adjusted based on attendee input received during the event planning process.

We hope to see you this June in Amsterdam!

The hospital building of the next generation

The second convention “The hospital building of the next generation – path-finding ideas and practical impulses for a better economy and performance” will take place at the “Japan Centre” in Frankfurt/Main on June 26-27, 2012.
Once again this year, users will be among the speakers presenting national and international field reports based on practical experience. The topics of the interdisciplinary programme will include sustainable hospitals, the efficient use of energy in hospitals, process optimisation, building automation and IT, modern communication systems, hygienic requirements (keyword: “germfree hospitals”), and legal aspects in the course of construction projects. Experts will also talk about financing possibilities and international aspects. According to the organiser, ARCADIS Deutschland GmbH – Health Care Sector, Frankfurt, and the patrons, Architects for Hospital Construction and in the Healthcare Sector (Bund Deutscher Architekten e.V. – AKG) and Healthcare without Harm, discussions in the plenum, in groups, and in personal talks will be an important part of the event concept thus also providing an excellent opportunity for networking.

Well-known speakers with many years of practical experience such as Thomas Rau (RAU-oneplanetarchitecture, Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Linus Hofrichter (sander.hofrichter architekten AKG), and Petra Wörner (woernerundpartner planungsgesellschaft mbH) have already accepted the invitation to speak at the convention. Mr. Ron Kalich (Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco, USA) will give the keynote speech on 26 June. The programme will be ready in the spring of 2012. It will be published on the internet page www.dieklinikimmobilie.de which already contains up-to-date information on the topic. Apart from requirements and challenges being faced by architects, planners, and product manufacturers during the planning and operation of hospitals, the lectures will also focus on those challenges faced by hospitals and medical centres as operators, owners, and investors. Their experiences gained during previous projects will be summarised and presented in a comprehensible manner.

Jürgen Zimmermann (ARCADIS Deutschland GmbH):”The development of a hospital building has turned into a challenge for all participants in the project. This is due to complex demands and requirements, be it for reasons of a tight financial framework, the consideration of a number of user requirements, tight timelines or the consideration of ongoing technical progress and the short and fast innovation cycles in medical technology. Our convention is there to provide a platform for interdisciplinary exchange. It is also aimed at presenting and discussing as many of the mentioned topics as possible. Detailed national user reports are as much part of the agenda as international project experiences.”
