ARNHEM, THE NETHERLANDS – October 20, 2005 – ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF, EURONEXT: ARCAD), an international consulting and engineering company, announced today that the recently announced sharpening of its strategy has led to a number of new appointments at the company.
In the field of rail infrastructure Mr. Pierre-Louis Rochet was appointed Global Director Rail, responsible for further strengthening and expanding the international position of the company in this market. Earlier in his career Mr. Rochet held the position of CEO at French railway consultancy Systra and at Groupe EGIS. He will be assisted in his new position by Bas Bollinger who has been appointed Business Development Director Rail.
Mr. Erhard Robold was appointed European Director Environment. In this position, he will be responsible for the environmental activities in Europe, among which the implementation of the GRiP® program for soil and groundwater remediation against a fixed price. Until now, Erhard Robold was director of ARCADIS Deutschland GmbH. He will be succeeded in this position by Mr. Ulrich Behr. Mr. Behr has made his career in the construction sector and will be responsible for all of the company's operations in Germany.
Additional appointments in the area of infrastructure are those of Mr. Michel Moussard to leader of the international knowledge center for bridges, which is located in France and of Mr. Pascal Guédon to international coordinator of the knowledge network for tunnels which will be operating from several countries.
