Long-Term Protection of Human Health, France
|
THE CHALLENGE: Forty years of manufacturing left its mark on a chemical facility in France, resulting in impacts to soil and groundwater. The client looked for a partner who could provide a safe and sustainable solution to the environmental legacies. ARCADIS offered local presence, a solid reputation with local authorities, a global team of experts and an impressive track record in innovative remediation services.
THE APPROACH: ARCADIS began by isolating impacted soils, then installing a groundwater collection and treatment system to recover trichloroethene (TCE) and chromium. ARCADIS conducted a risk assessment and developed a groundwater model that is used to support site-specific cleanup criteria. The final remedy involved the use of ARCADIS' patented in-situ reactive zone (IRZ) technology.
THE RESULT: Our combined risk assessment and remediation expertise resulted in a cost-efficient, safe and sustainable solution that focused on the long-term protection of human health and environment. A win-win situation for people and environment.
