THE CHALLENGE: At the Polish sorting station of the world's largest package delivery service, there were suspicions of historic and more recent contamination. If a clean up was required, it would have to be executed without obstructing business.

THE APPROACH: In order to recognize the state of soil environment in the area of the sorting station, ARCADIS conducted field works, including the execution of testing wells. The necessary remediation works included:
-obtainment of a permission for generation of waste for removal and remediation,
-receipt of soil contaminated with oil-derivative products,
-remediation of soil,
-bringing of clean soil,
-compaction of soil,
-reconstruction of pavement.

THE RESULT: A clean slate, a safe economic environment not obstructed by a legacy of industrial activities.
