THE CHALLENGE: Governments and corporations alike cannot anymore deny their contribution to climate change. Both governments and corporations have made commitments because their country signed the Kyoto Protocol. This commitment needs to be translated into real actions.

THE APPROACH: In 2006, ARCADIS was asked to speed up and support the process with regard to the development of a National Adaptation Strategy. ARCADIS contributed to this process among other things by: facilitating of expert meeting with climate adaptation experts; coordination and supervision of the process; bringing in and connecting the expertise of ARCADIS and external climate experts; assisting in writing of the National Adaptation Strategy and filling in of knowledge gaps by offering professional policy advise.

THE RESULT: A focused, national approach on climate change.
