Waste-to-Energy Plant, Netherlands

THE CHALLENGE: One of our Dutch municipal clients planned to develop a Waste to Energy (WtE) at an inductrial zone. The plan comprises combining a waste incinerator with the generation of power and the production of heat (steam). The WtE plant is to mainly be used to incinerate waste from companies and waste seperation plants for domestic and industrial waste. In addition to electricity, the WtE plant will also supply steam to companies located on the industrial zone. The WtE plant is to be constructed on the industrial zone near the Metal Park where industrial companies are concentrated.

THE APPROACH: ARCADIS has performed the Environmental Impact Statement and all the permit applications (environment, water quality and quantity and nature).

THE RESULT: Energy without the use of fossil fuels, using waste as a resource instead, created on-site, sustainable.
