A Clear View of Eastern European Industrial Facilities

THE CHALLENGE: Interesting facility, perfect location. But how does it look behind the façade? Is major renovation required and does the site hold environmental hazards? Many uncertainties in an acquisition or divestment process.
THE APPROACH: ARCADIS was commissioned by various car manufacturers to carry out Environmental Due Diligence Studies (Phase I and II) in Central and Eastern Europe. The main objectives were to acquire an understanding of the current situation and liabilities with regard to permits and legislation, soil and groundwater, air emissions, waste, sewage and use and handling of chemicals.
THE RESULT: Multi-lingual technical and regulatory ARCADIS experts located throughout Europe provided a sound decision basis and ensured the clients that all environmental liability issues were identified prior to property acquisition.
