More air and space for passengers

The airport of Charleroi – Brussels South is experiencing enormous growth. The number of passengers traveling through this airport totaled 250,000 in 2000, but this volume is expected to increase to 2 to 3 million passengers in the coming years. A new terminal at the northern end of the airport, with a minimum capacity of 3 million passengers, will be needed to accommodate the growing numbers of travelers. ARCADIS as part of a multidisciplinary consortium will provide project management, project planning, basic and detailed design, permit application, and construction supervision services on behalf of the Société Wallone des Aéroports (SOWAER). The team far surpassed the competition not only with its conceptual and technical designs but also with its focus on commercial exploitation of the passenger terminal. In addition, the team members have international experience with other airport project, which is essential for this complex work.
