Traffic in Alabama is back on track. Thanks to ARCADIS' traffic management services, Alabama drivers will soon be better informed about traffic conditions along their daily routes. In the nerve center, the Transportation Management Center (TMC), an intelligent transportation system (ITS) steers traffic in the right direction. Working with the Alabama Department of Transportation and local agency stakeholders, ARCADIS provides operational feedback for the system by tracking incidents and providing diversion route options. Currently, ARCADIS maintains all deployed components of the ITS system, including closed-circuit television cameras, changeable message signs, the fiber optic network, and all associated electronics. In addition to providing design services for new ITS equipment deployment, ARCADIS also assists the Alabama Department of Transportation with all construction engineering inspection functions, such as fiber optics, dynamic message signs, radar detectors, and cameras. The Alabama Department of Transportation was very satisfied with ARCADIS' services and selected us also for the next project phases.
